How it started

Velissely started with a simple frustration. Our founder, Emma, was tired of the same old routine — the nicks from razors, the awkward wait for hair to grow out before waxing, the time and money spent on salon appointments that never quite fit her schedule. She'd leave every appointment feeling good for a week, then find herself right back where she started, booking the next one.

One evening, after cancelling yet another salon visit because work ran late, she sat down and asked a question that seemed almost too obvious: why hasn't someone made this easy to do at home, properly, without the guesswork?

Turning a frustration into a first prototype

That question turned into months of research — reading through clinical studies on light-based hair reduction, testing early devices that were either too weak to work or too harsh to use comfortably, and talking to dozens of women about what they actually wanted: something simple, something gentle, and something that fit into a real life, not a spa day.

The result was the first Velissely device — smaller and quieter than the salon equipment Emma had used for years, but built around the same core technology, refined for home use. It wasn't perfect on the first try. It took several rounds of adjusting the cooling, the flash intensity, and the shape of the device itself before it felt right in her hand and worked the way it was supposed to.

What we believe

We believe that beauty routines shouldn't feel like a second job. They should be quick, gentle, and something you barely have to think about once they're part of your week. Every product we design starts from that same promise Emma made to herself: less friction, more confidence, and results you can actually see.

We also believe in being honest about what our devices can and can't do. We're not chasing miracle claims — we're building tools that work consistently, with clear instructions, real safety guidance, and support when you need it.

Where we're headed

Velissely is still young, and we're building it one device at a time — starting with hair removal, and expanding into the other small rituals that make up a self-care routine: skin, relaxation, and recovery. Every new product goes through the same process the first one did: real research, real testing, and real feedback from the people who'll actually use it.
